You may think you know the Konami Code, but you haven’t seen what happens when that code goes horribly wrong…There is one cheat code that has become more than a series of button presses, but a part of pop culture. If I even hint at the Konami Code, you probably know exactly the code I’m referring to, even if you’ve never played any of the games that use it.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
It’s been referenced in movies, music, cartoons, and can even be seen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. It is not just a cheat code, it is THE cheat code. It can grant lives, power-ups, invincibility, extra modes and more! It originated in the NES version of Gradius, released in 1986, and has been a mainstay of Konami games for decades after. Of all the games featuring this truly iconic code, today we are talking about Super Parodius, Konami’s own parody of the Gradius series.

It’s all too tempting to pause the game and type in the Konami code.
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A and then unpause the game by pressing Start.
See what you did? Your ship committed suicide because you tried to cheat the system.
You got virtually punked by the devious developers and typed in the most obvious code when you should be typing in the following code while paused:
A, Y, A, Y, L, R, L, R, B, X, B, X, B, X, then unpause the game. You’ll be granted the invincibility you were expecting. Cunning, eh?
