If there’s one game that’s known for a whole heap of awesome cheats, it’s Rare’s GoldenEye 007. In a unique move, finishing levels on certain difficulties within certain time limits would unlock modes that were sometimes useful such as invincibility or infinite ammo, as well as those that were completely for fun, such as Paintball Mode and DK Mode.
But, these this game also had traditional button-press combinations to unlock these codes and more – Including this unusual Line Mode cheat that makes everything all wireframey.
This one can be switched on and off while playing the game, so all you have to do is the following extremely long combination of button presses:
Hold R and press C down at the same time
Hold L and R then press Dpad down at the same time
Hold L and press Dpad right at the same time
Hold R and press C up at the same time
Hold L and R then press C right at the same time
Hold R and press Dpad up at the same time
Hold L and press Dpad down at the same time
Hold L and press Dpad right at the same time
Hold R and press C left at the same time
Hold R and press C up at the same time
Everything will then look absolutely terrible and depending on your TV it’ll probably be barely unplayable – But if you’re lucky you might be able to see how the game looks without all of those lovely polygons shaded in. Proof that not all cheats need to have a useful purpose.
